A TV Host's Worst Nightmare: Her Son Vanished While Walking the Dogs.
Incident Involving Valentina Hamayko's Son
According to TSN.ua: Valentina Hamayko, host of the popular Ukrainian morning show 'Snidanok z 1+1', recently opened up about a terrifying experience with her 7-year-old son, Andriyko. The boy disappeared while taking the family dogs out for a walk. The incident took place in the morning, when the child left home with the pets. As panic set in, his parents launched an urgent search, and Hamayko’s husband immediately called the police for assistance.
The Search for the Boy
Officers arrived at the scene to verify the child’s safety. During the search, Valentina Hamayko shared her frantic thoughts:
'I kept running through my mind what clothes he was wearing so I could describe them, and I tried to remember where in the village there are cameras that might have captured him… We were running around combing the forest, the lake, the dam, the farm, shouting Andriy!' — Valentina Hamayko
As it turned out, Andriyko was safe the whole time—he had been sitting inside the family car, playing games while it was parked. This came as a huge shock to his parents, who had been terrified for his safety. After the ordeal, Hamayko concluded, 'From now on, I’ll lock the car,' determined to prevent such a scare from happening again.
The incident serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of child safety during everyday activities. It underscores how easily a routine task—like walking the dogs—can turn into a parent’s worst fear. Valentina Hamayko’s experience also offers a valuable lesson for other families: always keep vehicles locked and maintain close supervision over children, even in seemingly safe environments.
