Iran's response to US strikes
The United States carried out strikes on targets in Iran during the night from Saturday to Sunday, including facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. According to US President Donald Trump, this was done to prevent a threat from Iran regarding nuclear weapons. In response, Iran launched six ballistic missiles at US facilities in Qatar, but the attack was repelled with minimal losses.
Trump described the Iranian attack on the US base in Qatar as a 'weak response', while Pentagon officials confirmed that the attack was premeditated and symbolic. Fortunately, there were no casualties among US troops.
Ayatollah Khamenei called for the Iranian people to resist, and Iran's response to the strikes from the US highlighted the strained relations between the two countries, caused by issues of nuclear security.
