According to ТСН: In Rivne region, a father and son died in the hospital from burns they sustained from a diesel fuel explosion.

The police of the Rivne region reported that the "death of a 57-year-old resident of the village of Peretoki was confirmed by doctors of the Rivne regional hospital yesterday around 22:30, and that of his 28-year-old son was confirmed today around 08:30".

According to law enforcement, on Wednesday, around 12:30, the men were working with power tools on their property when a metal barrel containing diesel fuel exploded, leading to a fire in the utility room.

Both father and son sustained severe burns to their bodies, airways, and eyes, approximately 70% and 80% respectively. Despite resuscitation efforts, they could not be saved.

The investigator opened a pre-trial investigation under paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 115 (intentional murder of two persons marked as an accident) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The police are clarifying all the details of this tragedy.

It has been previously emphasized that never connect to a generator. Electronics, large household appliances, heaters, pumps, and cheap extension cords can damage the generator and cause accidents.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety measures when working with flammable materials. Explosions and fires can occur at the most unexpected moments, therefore caution must be a priority. Law enforcement continues the investigation to determine the causes of the incident and prevent similar cases in the future.
