Seller of explosives for a blast at Ukrposhta detained: what is known about the suspect.
According to ТСН: The Kyiv police detained the second suspect in the case of the explosion at "Ukrposhta" in the Solomianskyi district of the capital.
According to law enforcement, a 52-year-old Kyiv resident was arrested for selling ammunition to a resident of Ternopil, allegedly for making "souvenirs." He faces up to seven years in prison. The investigation showed that a 40-year-old Ternopil resident bought ammunition through an online ad to create souvenirs. After engraving, he sent them by mail, and the hazardous package detonated at the sorting center during inspection.

The sender was detained and charged under part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal handling of weapons, military ammunition, or explosives.
Detention of the seller
Currently, the investigators jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine have identified the seller of the dangerous goods — a 52-year-old Kyiv resident who illegally sold explosive items. During a search at his home, law enforcement seized ammunition: a grenade launcher shot, parts of ammunition, and cartridges. The sources of origin of the seized items are currently being established.
The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and charged under part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — carrying, storing, purchasing, and selling military ammunition without the required legal permission. This article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.
Explosion at the Ukrposhta club
On October 30, an explosion occurred in the sorting center of "Ukrposhta" in the Solomianskyi district of the capital during the inspection of a package. As a result, five people were injured: employees of the post office and customs specialists.
This incident served as a serious reminder of the dangers associated with the illegal trade of explosives. Law enforcement continues the investigation to clarify all circumstances and prevent similar incidents in the future. The safety of citizens remains a priority for the law enforcement agencies, and they will make every effort to identify and apprehend all those involved in this crime.
