Residents describe a horrific scene: the walls and floor in the stairwell were covered in soot and blood, and a sharp smell of gunpowder was in the air. After the explosions, people heard moaning. The man who likely caused the explosions remained alive but behaved inadequately—trying to break down the doors to the terrified neighbors' apartments.
Later, footage appeared online showing a medical team taking a man with a bloody face to an ambulance.
Official police statement

“One of the residents of the building notified the police about the explosion in one of the apartments in the high-rise building on Prince Volodymyr the Great Street. Currently, police and medics are working there. All circumstances of the event are being established.”
Preliminary data on the injured

The ongoing events are causing concern among the population, and many hope for a quick investigation and clarification of all the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Witnesses and residents are waiting for official comments and confirmation of information about the injured.
