According to Novyny.live: On February 8, explosions were heard in Lviv as a result of an attack by Russian forces using strike drones. The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported that air defense systems had destroyed the hostile unmanned aerial vehicles. The blasts occurred at 08:48 in Lviv and at 08:40 in the nearby town of Khodoriv. Lviv, a major city in western Ukraine, has been a crucial hub for humanitarian aid and refugees since the full-scale invasion began in 2022.

Lviv's mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, also confirmed that explosions were audible in the city. An air raid alert was issued for only a few regions at the time. Simultaneously, on the same day, Russian forces struck Kherson using multiple launch rocket systems, causing casualties, large-scale fires, and destruction. Furthermore, in the Zaporizhzhia region, the town of Zhovta Krucha was attacked, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to two other individuals. The situation across Ukraine remains tense.
