Power outages extended to 16 hours: Ukrenergo named the recovery terms.
The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine
According to ТСН: The duration of power outages in Ukraine has significantly increased. While previously they lasted 4-8 hours, now in most regions, power outages can reach 12-16 hours.
This was reported by the head of the board of Ukrenergo, Vitaliy Zaichenko, during the program 'We are Ukraine'.
“Unfortunately, now it is no longer up to eight hours, but probably up to twelve and even sixteen hours for outages in most regions of Ukraine. Eight hours was just yesterday. Today, we should have such schedules from four to eight hours,” he said.
Zaichenko noted that restoring the energy system will take not days, but weeks.
“And to improve the situation, teams of energy workers are working. But the situation is quite difficult, and in the near future, we are not talking about days anymore, we are talking about weeks when restoration will be needed,” he added.
The head of Ukrenergo also pointed to an effective way to improve the situation.
“The only means of improving the situation is already changing the behavior of our consumers who can help the energy workers. Namely — reducing their consumption to as low a level as possible, leaving only the most economical devices and using the most energy-intensive ones at night or when they see that it is very sunny outside,” he emphasized.
It is also worth noting that recently Russia struck energy facilities in eight regions, including damage recorded in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Lviv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv regions.
The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine remains difficult due to attacks on energy infrastructure. Against the backdrop of increasing power outage durations, it is important for all consumers to adjust their electricity consumption and support the efforts of energy workers who are working to restore the system. Exceptional conditions require mutual support and understanding in society.
