Ivan Sharan lost 10 kg for his role in the movie 'Pamfir': how it happened.
According to ТСН: Ukrainian actor Ivan Sharan shared his experience of extreme weight loss, which he needed for his role in the movie 'Pamfir'. The artist lost about 10 kg in a short time. The requirement to lose weight came from the film's director, Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, shortly after he was approved for the role. The character was supposed to look emaciated, but the realities of filming brought their own corrections.
Tried everything to lose weight
While preparing for filming in Verkhovyna, Sharan tried to stick to a regime: he ate less, exercised more, and ran. However, the strict Hutsul lifestyle disrupted all his plans.
‘One of the important moments was shedding six kg. We went on an expedition to Verkhovyna, I geared up for weight loss, started eating less, doing fitness, began running. But the Hutsuls eat differently than we do, having one dish for breakfast instead of three. For example, banosh with cracklings, brynza, and something else. I started to devour,’ recalls Ivan.
Mismatch in shape
During rehearsals, the director and cameraman noticed that the actor did not meet the weight requirements at all. Therefore, Sharan took matters into his own hands: he hired fitness trainers for daily workouts and adhered to a strict diet. The most challenging stage, according to him, was the final week — the actor practically gave up food.
‘Dima says: “Sharan, what’s wrong? I’ll take you off the role. You need to be lean.” After the expedition, I returned to Kyiv, hired two fitness trainers. The diet was very tough. And a week before I was supposed to weigh 65 kilograms, I was on just water, drinking a liter of water a day with a teaspoon of honey, mint, and lemon. That was all my food. And that’s how I lost weight,’ the actor shared.
Let’s remind that recently the controversial choreographer Vlad Yama showed himself with his parents and how they have changed after four years of separation from him.
This story of Ivan Sharan illustrates how seriously actors approach their roles, willing to make significant sacrifices to achieve the authenticity and appearance of their characters. His experience serves as a reminder of the importance of health, even in a world where appearance plays such a significant role.
