Zelensky to Meet Trump in Florida: What the President of Ukraine Will Discuss.
According to ТСН: On Sunday, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will meet with American leader Donald Trump in Florida to present his new plan for ending the war. However, Trump is skeptical and pragmatic about these negotiations.
"The Last Word is Mine"
Discussing Zelensky's 20-point plan, which proposes the creation of a demilitarized zone and security guarantees, Trump made it clear that he does not intend to automatically support it.
"He has nothing until I approve it. So we will see what he has," said the American leader.
The publication notes that Trump considers himself the "supreme arbiter," and the future of Ukraine depends on Zelensky's ability to convince him of the need for concessions from Kyiv.
About Putin and Russia
Despite the tough rhetoric, Trump hopes the meeting will be productive.
"I think everything will go well with him [Zelensky - ed.]. I think everything will go well with Putin," he noted.
The U.S. president also expressed his intention to talk to the Russian leader "soon, as often as he wants." At the same time, he pointed to Moscow's difficult economic situation.
"Their economy is in bad shape, very bad shape," emphasized the American president.
A Parade of Visits
This weekend, Trump will have a busy schedule. In addition to Zelensky, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will also visit him.
"I have Zelensky, and Bibi is coming to me. They are all coming. They all respect our country again," Trump summarized.
He also commented on U.S. airstrikes against ISIS in Nigeria, describing them as a "Christmas gift" in response to the killings of Christians by Islamic militants.
Let’s recall that Zelensky expressed doubt about the Kremlin's real readiness to end the war on the terms proposed by the U.S., noting that he had not received clear signals from Moscow regarding peace in Ukraine.
This meeting between Zelensky and Trump will be an important step in searching for ways to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine. It is important whether the Ukrainian leader can find common ground with the American president and gain support for his plan. Both sides hope for a constructive dialogue that could influence the further development of relations and the situation in the region.
