Russia launched a massive strike on the energy system: which regions will see an increase in outages.
According to ТСН: On the night of December 6, the Russian army carried out a significant missile and drone strike on facilities involved in the generation, distribution, and transmission of electricity. As a result of this attack, several Ukrainian regions are under threat. Throughout the day, it is expected that the volume of electricity outages will increase.
According to the Ministry of Energy, affected facilities are located in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Lviv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv regions.
Electricity Supply Situation
As a result of the attack, consumers in Odesa, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions were left without power in the morning.
“Emergency recovery works are already underway in areas where the security situation currently allows. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible,” the Ministry of Energy emphasized.
Such attacks on energy infrastructure are becoming increasingly common, indicating the continuation of the conflict. Authorities urge the population to be prepared for possible interruptions in electricity supply and to use electricity sparingly while recovery work is ongoing.
