In Okhtyrka, a residential building was on fire due to a drone strike: seven injured.

According to ТСН: In the city of Okhtyrka, located in the Sumy region, a nighttime strike by 'Shaheds' occurred on a nine-story residential building. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in apartments from the second to the fifth floor.

Rescuers evacuated 35 residents, among whom seven were injured. There was also a child among the injured, who was successfully rescued from the damaged apartments, reported the State Emergency Service.

Actions of rescuers and consequences of the attack

The State Emergency Service noted that work to extinguish the fire was halted due to the threat of repeated attacks, but all fire centers have already been extinguished. Currently, work is underway to dismantle the damaged structures.

According to the information from the regional military administration, as a result of the Russian shelling in Okhtyrka, seven people were injured, two of whom were hospitalized. The nine-story building sustained significant damage.

It is worth recalling that on the night of December 8, Russian forces launched 149 strike drones of various types across Ukraine. Before reaching their targets, air defense units neutralized 131 drones, and 16 of them hit 11 targets, with debris falling in four cases.

This attack once again underscores the relevance of the threats faced by Ukrainians during the war. The victims in Okhtyrka need support, and services continue to work on restoring security and eliminating the consequences of this horrific incident.
