Investigation into TCC Official Completed

According to TSN.ua: Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) has wrapped up its pretrial inquiry into the deputy head of the Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC). At the time of the probe, this official was serving as the acting head of the institution. He is accused of omitting substantial assets registered under relatives' names from his mandatory declaration.

Undeclared Property Details

Investigators found that the deputy failed to report the following assets in his declaration:

  • A land plot measuring 0.025 hectares;
  • A residential house spanning 139 square meters, both located in the Lviv district.

The investigation revealed that although the property was purchased using the official's own funds, it was formally registered under his mother-in-law's name. Additionally, the declaration omitted two vehicles—a Mercedes and a Nissan—registered under his father and sister, respectively.

The total value of the undeclared assets amounts to nearly 8 million hryvnias. A lifestyle audit conducted by Ukraine's National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK) uncovered a significant discrepancy between the official's reported income and the actual value of the assets in question.

The TCC official now faces prosecution for submitting false information in his declaration. If convicted, he could receive a sentence of up to two years of restricted freedom.

This case is part of a broader anti-corruption drive in Ukraine, which continues amid ongoing reforms of state institutions. Exposing cases of undeclared assets by officials underscores the critical need for transparency in government bodies and strict adherence to anti-corruption laws.

A conviction in this case could set a precedent for similar proceedings in the future, potentially encouraging other public officials to exercise greater accountability in their conduct.
