Residents of Bucha Block Warsaw Highway Due to Power Supply Issues.
According to ТСН: In Bucha, located in the Kyiv region, residents of one of the residential complexes held a protest action, partially restricting traffic on the Warsaw highway. For more than an hour, people crossed the road at the pedestrian crossing to draw attention to the problems with electricity supply.
Protest Details
Law enforcement officials reported that residents of the residential complex 'Nova Bucha' gathered for the action. The protesters held posters demanding a resolution to the electricity issues, which, according to them, remain unresolved due to the absence of direct contracts for electricity supply. They claim that the developer has not concluded these contracts since 2016.
Due to the protest, traffic jams formed in both directions on the highway. The blockage was partial: protesters only entered the roadway during the green traffic light, allowing vehicles to pass.
Official Comments
The police in the Kyiv region stated that the rally was approved in advance. According to preliminary data from law enforcement, about 25 people participated in the action, which lasted from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
‘Residents notified in advance about the holding of the meeting. They had all the permits for its conduct. The rally has now concluded. About 25 protesters participated. People demanded to resolve the issues regarding electricity supply,’ the police reported.
Law enforcement agencies also noted that residents met with responsible persons and managed to resolve some of the issues that concerned them.
This protest in Bucha highlights the urgency of electricity supply issues in the region, as well as residents' attempts to actively defend their rights. It is evident that the situation requires further monitoring by local authorities and developers to avoid similar incidents in the future.
