Suburban Train Disruptions: Routes Cancelled and Delayed on January 16

According to TSN.ua: Due to ongoing security concerns, significant delays and cancellations are affecting suburban train services in Ukraine as of January 16, 2023. These disruptions impact routes toward Kyiv, as well as in the Zhytomyr and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The situation is part of a broader pattern of transport instability affecting the country.

Trains in the direction of Korosten are temporarily suspended, specifically trains #6450 and #6453.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the following services are not running:

  • #6402
  • #6408
  • #6405

Delays continue for trains heading to the capital. The following services are held at stations:

  • #6004
  • #6540
  • #6042

These trains are delayed at the Vasylkiv-4 and Vasylkiv-1 stations. Additionally, train #7030/6906, which departed from Fastiv-1 station, is running behind schedule by 1 hour and 7 minutes.

Ukrainian Railways ('UZ') has cancelled a number of trains across several regions for January and February 2023, which is expected to further disrupt schedules and passenger plans. The continuation of these delays and cancellations highlights the persistent and tense situation in the area.

These suburban train disruptions are a direct consequence of the complex security situation in Ukraine, ongoing since the start of military operations. They significantly impact public mobility, particularly as many people rely on public transport to reach workplaces and manage essential daily affairs.

A return to normal train schedules is contingent upon an improvement in the security conditions across the affected regions.
