The government has approved a new List of goods not subject to exchange

The Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to approve a new List of goods that cannot be exchanged or returned. This decision was made at a government meeting on November 1 as part of the implementation of the law "On the Protection of Consumer Rights". This was reported by the government representative in the parliament, Taras Melnychuk, on the Telegram messenger.

According to the government's decision, various goods are included in the List, including food products, medicines, personal hygiene products, cosmetics, and detergents without protective packaging that prevents free access to the products. The List also includes goods that have been cut or tailored to the size specified by the consumer.

In addition, the government canceled decree N172 dated March 19, 1994, which contained a list of goods not subject to exchange previously.

Consumer protection experts emphasize that if you accidentally damaged a product in the store, there is no need to panic and immediately pay for it. Ukrainian laws stand on the side of consumers in such situations. Representatives of "Consumer Protection" explained that store employees cannot demand payment for the accidentally damaged product. They can only record the fact of the damage. Since the item belongs to the store until payment, the risk of accidental damage also lies with the store. If store employees convince you of your fault and demand compensation, remember that they cannot independently collect money from you. Only a court can establish the buyer's fault. In the event of a conflict situation, do not hesitate to call the police to record the event and protect your rights.
