Aftermath of Attacks Across Ukraine

According to UATV: Russian strikes have resulted in civilian deaths and numerous injuries across the country. On June 21, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided an update on the toll and damage. In Zaporizhzhia, five people lost their lives and 26 others were wounded. In Poltava, two people died—among them six children—and 12 more sustained injuries. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, one man was killed and nine were hurt. The enemy launched over 20 attacks on three districts within that area.

Scope of Aggression and International Response

According to the president, over the past week, Russia deployed roughly 2,200 attack drones, more than 1,800 guided aerial bombs, and 87 missiles of various types against Ukraine. 'Also under fire were the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Rivne regions,' Zelenskyy stated.

The president stressed the need for continued international support: 'I am grateful to our partners for their unity. Now it is just as critical to move quickly on implementation—especially deliveries of air defense missiles—so that new contributions provide real protection for lives against relentless Russian strikes.'

These events highlight the severe situation in Ukraine and the urgent need for measures to safeguard civilians.

The country remains on high alert as relentless bombardments signal ongoing Russian aggression. With rising casualty numbers, the international community faces mounting pressure to step up aid, particularly by supplying air defense systems. This underscores the importance of partner unity and rapid action to shield Ukrainian citizens from constant threats.
