Zelenskyy Confirms Strike on Armavir Oil Refinery, Located 500 km from Ukraine's Border.
Strike on the Armavir Oil Refinery
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that the country's defense forces struck the Armavir oil refinery in Russia, a facility situated roughly 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. This attack was part of a broader operation that also targeted other military assets.
On May 30, Ukrainian drones hit a tanker belonging to Russia's shadow fleet, along with two oil depots. According to reports, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) engaged 23 military targets and facilities deep within enemy territory. Other notable achievements included the destruction of two Russian Tu-142 aircraft and an Iskander missile system at a military airfield in Taganrog.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy: 'Ukraine is justly returning the war to where it came from.'
He further emphasized that 'Russia could have ended its aggression long ago, but it chose to drag things out and continue. So another target in the Russian oil industry has been reached: Armavir, Krasnodar Krai.' In closing, he expressed gratitude for the precision of the operation: 'Thank you for the accuracy!'
These strikes on strategically important Russian infrastructure highlight the intensification of Ukrainian forces in counteroffensive operations. Targeting oil refineries and military objectives deep behind enemy lines is part of Ukraine's strategy to weaken Russia's military capabilities and limit its resources. These developments could shape the next phases of the conflict, as they demonstrate Ukraine's readiness to respond aggressively to ongoing aggression. It remains crucial to monitor how the situation evolves and what retaliatory steps Russia may take.
