Zelensky thanked Ukrainians for their language: especially the enemies in the occupied territories.
According to inkorr.com: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the holiday of Ukrainian writing and language expressed gratitude to all who contribute to the preservation and popularization of the Ukrainian language and culture. This was reported by 'Glavcom'.
“Today it is important to especially thank all our people who teach the language - regardless of the circumstances. To all the parents who communicate with their children in Ukrainian. To every teacher who reveals to children the endless world of Ukrainian culture. To everyone who cares about Ukrainian in Ukraine and abroad,” Zelensky stated.
The President also noted those who boldly continue to learn and preserve the language in the occupied territories, as well as the military.
“And, of course, to all those brave Ukrainian hearts who are loyal to Ukraine and teach Ukrainian even in temporarily occupied territories. To each of our soldiers - because where there are Ukrainian positions, there is a struggle for the life of Ukraine, our people, our culture,” he emphasized.
Reminder about the importance of the Ukrainian language
Zelensky also mentioned the inseparable connection between national identity and bravery: “Let’s remember that being Ukrainian means being brave. There are many nations in the world, but only the brave could defend their independence. Ukrainians are just like that. Glory to Ukraine!”.
