150 Ukrainian citizens who were held captive in Russia have been released and returned to their homeland. President Volodymyr Zelensky showcased photos of their return.

The images show how relatives and friends greet the soldiers. The defenders, unable to hold back tears, call their loved ones and express sincerity about returning home after captivity in Russia.

Ukraine managed to liberate 150 soldiers who were in captivity. Among them were representatives of the Navy, Air Forces, Assault Troops, and Ground Forces, national guardsmen, border guards, terrorist fighters, and police officers.

This was the 61st prisoner exchange, resulting in the release of 4,131 individuals, including military personnel, civilians, and foreign citizens. This Time, 108 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine returned, along with 22 national guardsmen, 19 border guards, and one representative of the National Police. They participated in combat activities in various regions of Ukraine.

Among the released were also 47 sergeants, 69 soldiers, 16 sailors, and 18 officers. The previous exchange took place on January 15 when 25 Ukrainian defenders were returned.

All the returned soldiers - privates, sailors, and sergeants - defended Ukrainian land in various directions and in the city of Mariupol near the Sea of Azov. Among them is also a civilian who was captured in the Kyiv region and held by Russians. They are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in various military units.
