Zelensky urges US to rethink its view of Ukraine: security depends on technology and alliances.
Ukraine’s President calls for a shift in perception
According to TSN.ua: Volodymyr Zelensky has called on the United States to change how it sees Ukraine, stressing that modern security hinges on technological cooperation and strong alliances. In an interview with the New York Post, he warned that the war is not a distant issue.
“The war is not as far away as we think,” Zelensky said, pointing to the dangers that emerge when nations are weak or divided.
Engagement with Israel and military support
Zelensky also expressed a desire for the US to stop viewing Ukraine solely as a country asking for handouts.
“I would very much like the US not to see Ukraine as a country that only asks,” he stated. This remark came in response to comments from Donald Trump, who argued that the US has no obligation to help Ukraine because it is separated by an ocean.
A key topic raised by Zelensky was cooperation with Israel, specifically regarding countermeasures against Iranian drones. This issue has become especially urgent after Iran officially added Ukraine to its list of legitimate targets for attack. Zelensky emphasized that deeper collaboration in technology and security could help Ukraine strengthen its position on the global stage.
As a result, relations between Kyiv and Tehran, along with the question of US military support, remain central to modern geopolitics—demanding attention and dialogue. Zelensky’s statements can be seen not only as an attempt to highlight Ukraine’s needs but also as a reminder of the importance of strategic partnerships in the face of global threats. In light of recent developments, such cooperation could prove decisive for strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and ensuring regional stability.
