President Zelensky’s Remarks on the War in Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: In an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cautioned international partners against pushing Kyiv toward a quick resolution of the conflict. He stressed that attempting to force Ukraine into ending the war through concessions or internal pressure would not lead to lasting peace. Instead, he emphasized the critical importance of continued Western support in countering Russian aggression.

Zelensky argued that swiftly stopping the bloodshed depends on the West’s resolve toward Moscow, not on pressuring Kyiv. He also stated that if the United States genuinely wants a rapid conclusion to the war, it will not be achieved by increasing pressure on Ukraine. These comments come at a time when the U.S. is reportedly reconsidering its priorities for arms deliveries.

Ukraine’s Stance and Military Cooperation

At the same time, Zelensky confirmed that no weapons intended for Ukraine have been redirected to other regions. Germany has also emphasized that military aid must not be used for other purposes. Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Andriy Melnyk, highlighted the deepening military cooperation between Russia and Iran, noting that the mass production and use of upgraded drones point to this trend.

Ukraine’s position remains firm, with international support playing a vital role in ensuring its security and territorial integrity.

President Zelensky’s comments indicate that Ukraine has no intention of yielding its positions under pressure from international partners, which could potentially lead to reduced support from them. The situation on the front lines and emerging challenges—particularly from Iran—only underscore the need to maintain unity and resilience within the international coalition backing Ukraine in its fight for independence.

Given the shifting priorities in U.S. aid, Ukraine must actively work to strengthen its standing on the global stage and secure consistent military support.
