According to ТСН: A resident of the Ternopil region lost about 50 thousand hryvnias, becoming a victim of fraudsters who promised her a "winter thousand".

A 56-year-old resident of the Chortkiv district contacted the police, recounting that she had fallen victim to internet fraud.

According to the victim, she came across an advertisement on social networks regarding the arrival of "Winter Aid". After following the provided link, the woman entered her bank card details. However, after that, 46,346 hryvnias were unlawfully withdrawn from her card instead of receiving the "Zelensky thousand". The police are currently working to identify the criminals.

Warning from law enforcement

Law enforcement agencies warn about the spread of such schemes used to unlawfully appropriate the funds of trusting citizens. Fraudsters create fake links and copies of government services, misleading people under the guise of social benefits.

They recommend obtaining information about additional cash payments only from official websites. It is important to remember that "Winter eSupport" can only be applied for at banks, through the "Diia" app, or with the help of "Ukrposhta".

We remind you that a similar situation occurred last year with the "Zelensky thousand", when a resident of the Chernivtsi region lost 100 thousand hryvnias after following an unknown link.

This incident once again highlights the importance of caution in financial matters, especially in times when access to social payments can be exploited by fraudsters. Citizens should remain vigilant and pay attention to the sources of information to avoid losses.
