Fighting in Kurakhove: the city in ruins
In Kurakhove, located in the Donetsk region, hostilities are ongoing. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) 'Khortytsia', Viktor Trehubov.
It is impossible to analyze the area of the city by percentages during the battles. However, I can note that as of this morning, fighting was ongoing within its boundaries, so the enemy's statements about capturing the city are clearly premature.
Moreover, early in the morning on January 6, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claimed that the Russian army had fully captured Kurakhove.
In particular, Russian occupiers attacked a crossing over the Oskil River in Kupiansk during the night of January 6. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Synehubov.
According to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian troops have been active east of Pokrovsk with the aim of encircling the city from the northeast.
