What Happened in Kerch

According to UATV: During the night of June 20–21, 2023, an attack targeted the 'TES-Terminal-1' oil facility in Kerch, sparking a fire. This operation was part of a broader series of strikes aimed at critical military infrastructure located in temporarily occupied territories.

In addition to the Kerch terminal, the port of 'Kavkaz' in Russia's Krasnodar Krai also came under fire. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, these actions were designed to disrupt Russia's military logistics, cripple its oil industry, and degrade its air defense systems.

Infrastructure Under Attack

Further strikes hit several railway bridges, including:

  • a bridge over the North Crimean Canal near Rozdolne;
  • a bridge in the village of Petershagen in Zaporizhzhia;
  • a bridge over the Syvash near Chonhar in Kherson region.

These infrastructure assets are strategically vital for supporting military transport operations.

The events of that night signal an intensification of combat operations, with strikes specifically aimed at weakening the enemy's military capabilities.

Such attacks could significantly hamper Russia's logistical capacity in the region, as damage to key infrastructure complicates the supply of resources for military missions. At the same time, this escalation reflects a growing intensity in the conflict, raising tensions and potentially leading to further consequences for both sides and for civilians in the area.
