Meeting between Zelensky and Trump: What Europe expects from the negotiations.
According to ТСН: European officials expect that the meeting of the Presidents of the USA and Ukraine this week will bring positive results, but they are also preparing for unforeseen situations.
According to CNN, sources highlight that the Ukrainian side has been calling for informal negotiations between the leaders of Ukraine and the USA for several months.
“In Europe, a positive outcome of the meeting is anticipated, as they consider the current dynamics of relations between the USA and Ukraine to be productive, but they acknowledge that the result of any meeting with Trump is unpredictable.”
It is noted that during the meeting between Zelensky and Trump, the main topics will be security issues and increasing pressure on the Kremlin if it does not agree to a constructive plan for ending the war.
Zelensky also reported that he recently had a conversation with representatives of President Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, discussing “some significant details of the work.” Members of the Ukrainian delegation who participated in the negotiations in Miami were also present at the meeting.
The meeting between the two presidents could be an important step in the development of relations between Ukraine and the USA. The leaders will discuss not only security issues but also possible pathways to achieving peace in the region, which is key for both countries. Europe, observing these negotiations, hopes for a productive outcome that will strengthen stability in the region.
