Border Guards Reveal the Secret of Warmth: How to Dress in the Cold to Avoid Freezing.
According to ТСН: Border guards emphasize the importance of proper dressing in cold weather and maintaining warmth to avoid hypothermia.
Experts recommend wearing several layers of clothing, as this helps to retain heat more effectively. Footwear should be such that toes can move freely, as restrictions in movement can lead to rapid cooling of the legs. If clothing or socks get wet, they should be removed as quickly as possible to avoid losing body heat.
Recommendations for Heating
For heating, chemical warmers or thermal blankets can be used, which are included in the individual first aid kits of border guards. These warmers should be placed under clothing, for example, under a greatcoat or fleece jacket, or wrapped around the legs before putting on footwear.
The Importance of Movement
The agency emphasized that heat is produced by the body, especially during movement. Regardless of the number of layers of clothing or insoles in shoes, without activity, the body cools down quickly.
“No matter how much clothing you put on, it only retains heat, not produces it. Movement is the main way to maintain warmth in the body,” the border guards stressed.
Citizens are urged to follow these recommendations while staying in the cold, especially during hikes, border service, or extended time outdoors in freezing temperatures.
Let us remind you that earlier we reported on the situation in Odesa region, where a dozen cars and two ambulances were rescued from snowdrifts, as well as the blocking of roads by trees in Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, where snowstorms have been ongoing for several days.
These tips are especially important during the winter period when low temperatures can pose a threat to health. Following such recommendations will help not only border guards but also all citizens to be safe outdoors in the winter frost.
