He was called 'the Godbearer' because of the deep faith and spirituality he demonstrated in his words and actions. Ignatius became a victim of persecution of Christians during the reign of Emperor Trajan, was arrested, and sent to Rome, where he was to become prey for wild beasts in the arenas. On his way to Rome, he wrote letters to various Christian communities, which later became known as the 'Letters of Ignatius' and remained an important source of knowledge about faith and martyrdom.

In Ukraine, they also celebrate the Day of Honoring Pensioners and Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This professional holiday is dedicated to people who have served for many years in law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, particularly in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police.
