According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, the number of women mastering professions previously considered male is increasing. As part of an experimental project by the State Employment Service, 873 women are acquiring in-demand blue-collar specialties in the labor market. This was

Number of Women Employed After Training in Male Professions

The essence of the program is that businesses receive qualified personnel in shortage areas, while women have the opportunity to find stable jobs and become financially independent. Since the beginning of the project, employers have submitted 464 applications for employment. 416 participants have completed the necessary training, of which 319 have already found work. In addition, another 457 women are continuing their studies.

Popular Professions Among Women in Male Areas

  • woodworking machine operator – 286 applications,
  • boiler operator – 168 applications,
  • tractor driver – 164 applications.

Professions such as forklift driver, trolleybus driver, and repair technician are also in demand. As part of the program, women can master 31 specialties that were previously considered strictly male but are now popular among employers.

Regions with the Largest Number of Women Mastering Male Professions

The largest number of program participants is recorded in five regions: Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Rivne, and Volyn. To join the program, women or employers can apply online or contact the nearest employment center. The State Employment Service notes that this initiative not only helps overcome gender stereotypes but also contributes to solving the staffing shortage in important production sectors.

This project opens new opportunities for women in Ukraine, allowing them not only to master new professions but also to break traditional barriers. Thanks to such initiatives, women are becoming more active in the professional environment, and the labor market is developing in a direction that meets modern challenges.
