Attack on Kharkiv: dozens injured, destroyed buildings, hospital damaged.
On the evening of April 29, powerful explosions occurred in Kharkiv. The city mayor, Ihor Terekhov, reported that Russian drones were attacking the city. Five districts were under fire - Kyivskyi, Nemishliansk, Slobidskyi, Saltivskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi.
The Russian army carried out a large-scale attack on Kharkiv using 'Geran-2' drones. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, at least 16 drones attacked the city from 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
As a result of the attack, 39 people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy, a five-year-old girl, and a 24-year-old pregnant woman. Four of the injured were hospitalized, and many received medical assistance.
The head of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv region, Artem Astakhov, reported 16 confirmed hits in the city. The attack caused 11 fires that engulfed residential buildings and cars.
Two hospitals, one enterprise, and apartment and private houses were also damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties among patients and medical staff.
The head of the department for combating crimes committed in the context of armed conflict, Spartak Borysenko, stated that Russia uses enhanced warheads weighing 88 kg in its drones, including fragmentation and thermobaric charges. This shows a change in the enemy's tactics and its intention to inflict even more damage on the civilian population.
The city mayor, Ihor Terekhov, warned that the number of injured may increase.
