Two Women Injured as Drone Strikes Apartment Building in Kharkiv Attack.
Kharkiv Under Drone Attack
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces targeted Kharkiv using 'Shahed' attack drones. One of the unmanned aerial vehicles hit a residential building in the Kyivskyi district of the city, igniting a fire that spread across the second and third floors of the high-rise. Two women, aged 61 and 52, suffered blast-related injuries and are currently receiving medical care as a result of the strike.
Units from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) are at the scene working to manage the aftermath of the attack. The situation remains tense as authorities continue to monitor hostile drone activity. Oleh Syniehubov urged all city residents to take shelter and not disregard air raid warnings.
Broader Attack Context
This assault took place the day before, on April 2, when Russian forces also launched ballistic missiles at Chernihiv. It is part of a broader pattern of aggression, highlighting Moscow's increased reliance on drone warfare against civilian areas.
The event underscores the ongoing escalation of Russia's use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the conflict. Strikes on civilian infrastructure emphasize the dangers faced by non-combatants and the critical need for heightened safety measures, including heeding air raid sirens. Conditions in regions under attack remain precarious, requiring residents to stay vigilant and prepared for emergencies.
