Altercation at Khreshchatyk Metro Station
According to TSN.ua: A physical altercation broke out between passengers at the Khreshchatyk metro station in Kyiv. Police confirmed the clash began as a dispute between two groups of young men before escalating into a fight. Authorities have officially registered the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations (URPI) under Part 1 of Article 296 of Ukraine's Criminal Code.
The hooliganism that prompted this offense is punishable by:
- A fine ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 tax-free minimums of citizens' income;
- Probationary supervision for a term of up to 5 years;
- Restriction of liberty for the same term.
The Kyiv Metro Police stated:
"Information on this event has been entered into the URPI under Part 1, Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An investigation is underway to identify all participants." - Kyiv Metro Police
This is not the first instance of hooliganism at Khreshchatyk station; a similar incident occurred on the evening of January 3. Police continue their investigation to clarify the circumstances and hold all those involved accountable.
