Borrell: Many EU states supported the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Kursk operation.
Top European Union diplomat Josep Borrell stated that many attendees at the informal meeting of foreign ministers of member states supported the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in the Kursk region.
At a press conference following the meeting in Brussels, Borrell recalled that Ukraine's counteroffensive operation in Kursk "struck a blow to Putin's narrative".
"Ukraine demonstrated strategic audacity and turned Putin's narrative of a 'special operation' utterly futile," added the top EU diplomat.
He explained that at the meeting of foreign ministers, "many member states expressed support for the Kursk operation" as part of Ukraine's inherent right to self-defense in accordance with the UN Charter.
Borrell also mentioned the speech of Ukrainian Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who emphasized that the advance in the Kursk region undermined the myth of "Russia's invulnerability".
"In February, two and a half years ago, Putin started the war, believing it would last a couple of weeks. And it has already been going on for more than a couple of years. And he did not capture Kyiv; instead, even Russian territory has come under attack," he concluded.
