Naftogaz recommends installing gas detectors: price and principle of the device.
According to ТСН: Ukrainians using gas stoves are strongly advised by the gas production company 'Naftogaz Ukraine' to install a special device—a gas detector. Experts emphasize that the risk of gas leaks always exists, especially in wartime conditions, therefore this device provides constant monitoring of air quality in residential premises.
How the device works, who it is useful for
'Naftogaz' notes that the gas detector is useful for all gas consumers, regardless of the type—both pipeline and cylinder gas. The main function of the device is continuous air monitoring. As soon as the gas concentration reaches a dangerous level, the detector instantly reacts with a loud alarm.
Experts explain that the device detects critical gas concentration at an early stage, allowing to avoid emergencies. Some models can even automatically shut off the gas supply and activate ventilation or other safety systems to prevent explosions or poisoning of residents. If necessary, the detector can be integrated with the home security system for timely response.
According to 'Naftogaz', the price of the gas detector ranges from 1225 to 2200 hryvnias.
Will gas tariffs rise
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to extend the special duties for natural gas market entities until March 31, 2026. This decision guarantees that the price of gas for the population will remain unchanged until this time and will be 7420 UAH per thousand cubic meters, including VAT, which corresponds to 7 hryvnias 42 kopecks per cubic meter.
However, starting from January 1, 2026, the cost of gas delivery in Ukraine will be re-calculated. The delivery cost is calculated for the entire year based on actual consumption during the period from October 1 to September 30.
The gas detector is an important safety measure, especially in today's conditions. Its use can significantly reduce the risks associated with gas leaks in households. At the same time, although the price of gas remains stable until March 2026, changes in delivery tariffs may affect the overall costs for consumers, so it is worth planning personal budgets according to the new conditions.
