According to ТСН: Due to significant cooling and difficult weather conditions, the government decided to review the work schedule of educational institutions.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydengo reported that the Ministry of Education and Science, in partnership with local administrations, is urgently considering a transition to a special mode of education.

"The Ministry of Education, together with other central executive authorities, regional and Kyiv city military administrations, must urgently address the issue of temporary suspension of the educational process in the full-time format, the transition to distance learning or extending winter holidays at least until January 19, 2026. This concerns preschool institutions, general secondary, vocational pre-higher and higher education establishments. Decisions will be made urgently, taking into account the conclusions of the TEB and NS commissions and the real situation in the regions," said Yulia Svyrydengo.

She emphasized that these measures are forced and aimed at preserving the health of citizens in difficult weather conditions. Local authorities must make final decisions promptly, based on the actual temperature indicators in each region.

What is known about the bad weather in Ukraine

Dangerous meteorological phenomena are observed in several regions of Ukraine - significant snowfall, blizzards, and strong winds.

The severe weather that occurred on January 8 led to complications on the roads. Traffic was restricted in several regions in the west - Lviv, Rivne, and Volyn regions. Meanwhile, the bad weather continues to move into Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, and Chernivtsi regions, as well as in the Kyiv region.

Experts point out that under such conditions of ice, heavy blizzards, and snowdrifts, even experienced drivers face increased risks. It is important to be as attentive, cautious, and prudent as possible in every decision on the road.

In addition, the government plans to implement solutions for office workers due to deteriorating weather conditions.

Residents of Kyiv are urged not to travel in personal vehicles and, if possible, work remotely.

Currently, the situation in Ukraine remains tense due to weather conditions. Local authorities are taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens, and educational institutions are considering the possibility of changing the learning mode. In conditions of severe weather, it is crucial to follow expert recommendations and minimize movement to avoid risks on the roads.
