According to ТСН: In the night of December 25, Russian military forces carried out shelling in Chernihiv region. As a result of the attacks, two people were killed, and two others were injured.

Details of the attack

The head of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported this. He noted that:

“Russians once again targeted energy and civilian life. Several strikes on Chernihiv. A 'Geran' hit one of the enterprises. An administrative building, garage, passenger cars, and a bus were damaged. A strike drone hit one of the apartments in a nine-story building. Housing on the 6th floor and cars parked near the house caught fire. Windows in nearby buildings were damaged, including in an educational institution.”

Several hits by 'Geran' drones on critical infrastructure have also been recorded, leading to power outages for tens of thousands of subscribers.

Strike on the civilian sector

In the Chernihiv district, a drone struck a gardening society, damaging the windows of several houses.

In the villages of the Snovsk community, an FPV drone hit an energy facility, leaving several settlements without electricity. In another village, the drone hit a logging truck, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old driver. In the district center, a ‘Geran’ attacked one of the enterprises, damaging the building and equipment, and a 37-year-old woman was injured.

Civilian victims

An FPV drone also struck a civilian car in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old driver. The passenger was hospitalized and is in stable condition under medical supervision.

“In the past day, Russians launched 85 strikes across the region – 126 explosions,” Chaus clarified.

There was also information about attacks in Odesa region, where casualties and destruction were recorded.

These shellings once again confirm the continuity of aggression from Russia, as well as their deliberate desire to harm Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. The situation remains tense, and the restoration of damaged facilities and electricity supply is an urgent need to ensure normal life for the residents of the region.
