Priest Filyuk on children's clothes before birth: is it really a bad sign?.

According to ТСН: Famous blogger priest Oleksiy Filyuk from Ternopil region expressed his opinion on the widespread superstition among Ukrainians that buying children's clothes before the birth of a child is a bad sign.

Should you buy children's clothes in advance?

Filyuk clarified this issue in his Instagram. He assures that it is permissible to buy things for the baby even during pregnancy.

"Of course, you can. And where is your faith? You are pregnant; you are supposed to give birth to a child. You believe that everything will be fine with it. And you should buy clothes,"

He also emphasized that it is necessary to take clothes for the baby to the maternity hospital since after the birth of the baby, the mother must have something to dress them in.

"Why? Because the mother, after giving birth to the child, needs to dress the child in something. Will she give birth and then run around the market or store buying things? Of course, you can buy things before the baby's birth. You live by faith,"

Faith and preparation

The priest urged parents expecting a baby to believe that everything will be alright with their child and not succumb to negative thoughts.

"If you believe that everything will be fine with your child, then according to your faith, it will be. But if you are already panicking, then sorry, you are unhappy people. You have already convinced yourselves of misfortune,"

Filyuk advises parents to prepare things for the child before delivery while they still have time. He emphasizes the importance of having two bags: one packed for the maternity hospital and the other at home.

"You have to believe that everything will be fine, give birth, and have two bags. One bag should be packed with things for the maternity hospital, and the other at home. You need to dress them in something,"

Oleksiy Filyuk's advice may be helpful to many families expecting a new addition.
