Ukraine's Fuel Prices as of March 7, 2023

According to TSN.ua: After a period of significant increases, the rise in gasoline and diesel prices at Ukrainian filling stations finally paused on Saturday, March 7, 2023. Compared to the previous evening, fuel costs remained nearly unchanged.

In Kyiv on March 7th, fuel prices fluctuated within the following ranges:

  • A-95 gasoline – 69.00 - 71.00 UAH
  • A-92 gasoline – 65.00 - 71.00 UAH
  • A-100 gasoline – from 79.90 UAH
  • Diesel fuel – 70.00 - 75.00 UAH
  • Autogas (LPG) – 40.00 - 42.00 UAH

It is important to note that the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has launched an investigation into fuel stations regarding the recent price hikes. The stations have three days to provide explanations for the reasons behind the increases. For context, fuel prices are a sensitive economic indicator in Ukraine, directly impacting transportation and the cost of goods. In response, Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated that the government is implementing measures to stabilize prices in the fuel market.

The Significance of Fuel Price Stabilization

Stabilizing fuel costs is a critical concern for the Ukrainian economy, especially in a situation where price surges can drive up the cost of goods and services across the board. The Antimonopoly Committee's probe aims to prevent potential abuses by fuel suppliers and ensure greater market transparency.

Government interventions aimed at price control can help alleviate social pressure on consumers and businesses whose operations depend heavily on fuel availability and cost.
