Memorial Day of the Victims of the Holodomor: The Ministry of Internal Affairs has published thousands of criminal cases.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has digitized and published thousands of criminal cases related to the Holodomor on an electronic map. This was announced by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Holodomor Museum, has digitized and published thousands of criminal cases related to the actions of Soviet torturers.
Currently, the electronic map features photocopies of 1022 preserved archival cases and information about 1024 cases that were destroyed in 1956. Some of the information that was destroyed is not located on the map by the place of occurrence, but by the location of the investigative units. This explains the clustering of cases on the map.
The process of converting paper documents from the Ministry of Internal Affairs archive into electronic format and mapping them to the interactive map is still ongoing.
It is worth noting that every year on November 23, Ukraine commemorates the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Holodomors of 1932-1933 and other famines. Traditional memorial events are held on this day, such as a moment of silence at 16:00, the 'Light a Candle' campaign, and memorial services near monuments.
With the arrival of the third President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko to Bankova, the commemoration of the Holodomor victims was included in programs for foreign delegations.
