Half a million people need to be conscripted into the army, as stated by Zaluzhny earlier – MP.
At the moment, the situation at the front requires the mobilization of 500,000 citizens, said Member of Parliament Roman Kostenko. He is the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security. This information is available in the broadcast of the program "Pryamyi".
Kostenko noted that after the law on strengthening mobilization was adopted in May, the pace of mobilization significantly decreased in September. The deputy noted that it was originally planned to involve 200,000 people, but this is insufficient for the current needs of the army.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, also expressed the need to mobilize 500,000 military personnel in December 2023.
Given the figures we have and the reinforcements we need, I am still more in agreement with him (with Zaluzhny – editor's note of "Glavkom"), and I believe that such a number is more relevant than what we are recruiting, Kostenko stated.
Currently, the existing system, which provides for the operation of operational-strategic and operational-tactical groups of troops, was effective at the beginning of the full-scale attack, but without changes, the system may end tragically, claims Member of Parliament Roman Kostenko.
Last week, 853 Ukrainians turned to recruitment centers, and 197 of them have already started the first steps towards service in the Armed Forces.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved important changes to enhance military registration and control over legal violations. Now territorial recruitment centers, the SBU, intelligence agencies, and the National Police will exchange data through an electronic system.
