Top up to 3100 hryvnias: who among Ukrainians will receive money already in August.
New changes in the pension system of Ukraine
May 2025 introduced a number of important changes in the pension system of Ukraine. One of the key innovations was the new procedure for confirming foreign employment. Now foreign experience can be taken into account for pension appointment for Ukrainians, even in the absence of pension agreements between countries. Work in former Soviet republics will also be counted based on relevant certificates.
Pensions for individuals convicted of crimes against national security are now limited to only the minimum payment. In August, pensioners will receive a one-time cash assistance for Independence Day along with pensions ranging from 450 to 3100 hryvnias.
Average salary and other aspects
According to the Pension Fund, the average salary in Ukraine in April amounted to 19,856 hryvnias, which is 18% more than in the previous year. The head of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Yevhen Kapinus, emphasized the successful work of the fund and timely pension payments. More information regarding the new project on pension indexing is promised to be provided in further editions.
In May 2025, important changes in the pension system that address the issues of confirming foreign experience, limiting pension payments for certain categories of citizens, and the increase in average salary became effective in Ukraine. Some aspects of the innovations still require clarifications and additional explanations.
