Energy Auditor Warns: Portable Heaters Pose a 'Shahed Drone' Level Threat in Homes.
Portable Heaters and Generators Present Severe Hazard, Expert Warns
According to TSN.ua: The head of the Ukrainian Energy Auditors Association, Vadym Lytvyn, has issued a stark warning about the serious dangers of using portable heaters and generators in residential buildings. He cautions that their use poses a direct threat to human life, with the level of risk comparable to that posed by 'Shahed' kamikaze drones. This warning comes as many households rely on alternative power sources due to ongoing infrastructure challenges.
Kyiv Fire Incident Highlights the Risk
These concerns were recently underscored by a fire in Kyiv, which was ignited by a generator. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which covered an area of 5 square meters. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, there were no casualties or injuries resulting from the incident.
Vadym Lytvyn further emphasized that homemade or unverified devices present a particular danger and can lead to tragic consequences. The expert stressed that using such equipment can be tantamount to introducing a self-inflicted security threat into one's own home.

Given the potential risks, it is essential to pay close attention to the quality and safety certifications of such appliances and to adhere strictly to specialist recommendations. In the current situation, it is vital not only to avoid using dangerous devices but also to increase public awareness of these potential threats.
