Emergency Power Outages in Ukraine: Caused by Massive Drone Attacks.
Emergency Power Outages in Ukraine Due to Drone Attacks
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, especially in Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Poltava, and Kirovohrad regions, emergency electricity outages have been introduced. This is reported by Glavcom citing data from DTEK.
According to the orders of NEC Ukrenergo, schedules for emergency outages have also been implemented by local energy companies.
It is worth noting that on Friday, October 17, power limitations for industry are planned across Ukraine from 07:00 to 22:00.
Massive Attacks by Russian Drones on the Ukrainian Energy System
On the night of October 16, the occupiers once again carried out drone strikes on energy facilities in several regions. As a result, consumers in a number of areas were left without electricity by morning. Emergency recovery works are ongoing.
On the night of October 10, the Russian Federation again attacked the energy infrastructure facilities of Ukraine. This strike occurred on the anniversary of the first shelling of the energy system, which the occupiers began in 2022. President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Russia attacked the Ukrainian energy system with over 450 drones and more than three dozen missiles.
Also, on the night of October 14, new attacks were recorded across Ukraine, again targeting energy facilities. Earlier, Zelensky stated that Ukraine may start importing electricity this winter due to hostile strikes on energy infrastructure.
It should be reminded that the head of Ukrenergo Vitaliy Zaichenko expressed the opinion that emergency power outages may last for a week.
Thus, emergency power outages continue in Ukraine due to massive drone attacks by the occupiers. Russian forces continue to use drones and missiles to strike energy infrastructure, leading to a shortage of electricity for both the population and industry. The authorities are actively engaged in emergency recovery operations, but there are concerns that the outages may last for a long time.
