Fedorov names the distance that Ukrainian strike drones can cover.
Ukraine is creating strike drones that can fly up to 1,800 km. This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation.
According to Fedorov, Ukraine is actively using decoy drones and is launching more strike drones than Russia.
Artificial intelligence is being used, but there are challenges in connecting and launching drones for deep strikes.
Fedorov also stated that Ukraine is working on drones to intercept Russian kamikaze drones that are used for night attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Companies are already conducting some tests, but this is still in development. There are certain results.
Ukraine has already purchased 1.3 million drones from a planned contract for 1.6 million units this year.
Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that 10 companies are competing for state procurement of artificial intelligence products.
He believes that in the future the use of autonomous drones with target designation will significantly increase. There is a possibility to see the first real swarm of drones, although this will not happen on a mass scale yet. The first steps have already been taken.
In general, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to deploy robotic units in brigades engaged in combat operations to reduce personnel losses.
Thanks to strict control over procurement, the Ministry of Digital Transformation managed to save 4.5 billion UAH.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the launch of recruitment for drone operator units through the mobile app 'Diia'.
