Fico told Xi Jinping what kind of "peace" Slovakia wants for Ukraine.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced that Slovakia will join the "Friends of Peace" group to resolve Russia's war against Ukraine. He stated this during a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Both leaders discussed the situation in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and Xi supported the political settlement of the conflict.
In addition, Xi invited Slovakia and other like-minded countries to work with China to promote peace and negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. For his part, Fico praised China for its fair and constructive position and stated that Slovakia would join the "Friends of Peace" platform for a political settlement of the conflict.
It should be noted that Fico is visiting China from October 31 to November 5. After the meeting with Xi, Slovakia and China announced the upgrading of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
The Slovak Prime Minister also predicted a quick end to the war in Ukraine.
