LAUD revealed the cost of participating in the national selection for Eurovision: 15 thousand dollars.
According to ТСН: Singer LAUD, who became a finalist in the national selection for "Eurovision-2026", openly spoke about the expenses for preparing for the contest.
The artist noted that although he had previously participated in the national selection, the details of funding were unknown to him. This time, the situation has changed dramatically — all expenses are covered by him and his team.
"This year is the first time that I am raising all the funds myself with my team. Previously, this was handled by the ex-producer Igor Tarnopolsky. And, to be honest, I didn’t even know what the amounts were. Now I already know what these amounts can be," the singer shared in the NABARI show.
LAUD emphasized that expenses are accumulating at every stage of preparation — from writing the song to the visual part of the performance. This includes track development, design, staging, lighting, video, and the overall concept of the performance. As a result, the artist announced an impressive figure: "It’s definitely close to 15 thousand dollars".
A separate component of the expenses is the team. As LAUD mentioned, participation in the competition requires attracting PR specialists and content managers, of whom he does not have on a permanent basis. However, during the national selection, it is impossible to manage without them, and their services are quite expensive.
The singer also talked about the costs of creating one composition: arrangement costs about a thousand dollars, while recording a song costs another 300–400 dollars. Funding mostly comes from concert activities, and when there are not enough performances — from investors or sponsors.
LAUD admitted that participation in "Eurovision" will require even greater expenses than the national selection. However, the artist assures that he is ready for this challenge.
In conclusion, it is worth mentioning the recent final of the "Junior Eurovision-2025", where France won, and Ukraine took second place. However, the winning country refused to host the contest and explained why.
According to LAUD, with his finalist status in the national selection, preparation for "Eurovision" requires significant investments. His experience shows that participating in such a large-scale event is financially costly, requiring not only creative efforts but also proper management. The situation in the music industry and competitions like "Eurovision" forces artists to seek new approaches to financing their projects, influenced by many external factors, including competition and economic conditions.Read also
