Russia’s FSB Plans Fake Documents on Volhynia Massacre to Drive a Wedge Between Ukraine and Poland.
FSB Disinformation Operations
According to Espreso.tv: Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, has warned that Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) is orchestrating operations aimed at creating a rift between Ukraine and Poland. According to Kovalenko, the FSB intends to release forged documents concerning the Volhynia tragedy, with the release scheduled for July 5.
“FSB officers are planning to make public falsified documents related to World War II events,”he stated.
Polish Prime Minister’s Remarks
Against this backdrop, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held a press conference in Warsaw on July 3, where he warned that the coming months could be critical for the Baltic states. Tusk said:
“I do not intend to scare anyone, but the next few months could be critical, especially in the Baltic countries.”
Additionally, media reports indicate that Russia is planning a 'limited military provocation' on Polish soil, a move that could further destabilize the region.
Tensions remain high as Moscow’s actions threaten to undermine cooperation between Ukraine and Poland, as well as stability in the Baltic states. Countering disinformation and military provocations has become a top priority for both the Ukrainian and Polish governments, as these security challenges could have far-reaching implications for the broader geopolitical landscape in Europe.
