Polish Foreign Minister expresses concerns for Ukrainian men

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, stated that the policies of many EU countries negatively affect Ukraine, as they provide economic advantages for men of conscription age. He called on the countries of Western Europe to reconsider their approaches to helping Ukrainians, in order to force them to return to their homeland.

Currently, in Germany, Ukrainians who are there under temporary protection receive significant assistance. It is about payments exceeding 500 euros, and with housing compensation, it can be over 1000 euros per month per person, and this also applies to men. It is similar in the Netherlands, I don't know the exact amounts in France

Sikorski believes that a simple way to help Ukraine is to stop providing assistance to Ukrainians who are subject to conscription.

Hiding from the draft is not a reason for financial assistance. Just stop paying them

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sibiga, supports Sikorski's initiative.

Earlier, Sikorski and Sibiga reported that Ukrainian soldiers might train in Poland.

Recall that from 2024, Ukrainian families who are in Poland after the start of the invasion will receive additional financial support to ease adaptation and ensure a stable life.

In 2025, Poland will establish new conditions for providing assistance to Ukrainian refugees who are in the country with children. Parents will have to indicate the educational institution where their children study, and this information will be checked.

The provisions on aid to Ukrainian citizens have changed in Poland from July 1, 2024, introducing new regulations for persons under temporary protection.
