Provision of long-range weapons to Ukraine is blocked by the German Chancellor and his entourage
Most political circles in Berlin support providing Ukraine with long-range weapons, but the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his closest associates are blocking this decision.
This was reported by the head of the Bundestag Defense Committee Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann during a briefing in Kyiv, writes Ukrinform.
"Most representatives of 'political Berlin' fully support the transfer of all long-range weapons. The problem is with the Chancellor and his entourage. A few weeks ago, at a UN meeting in New York, the Chancellor stated that under his leadership this would not happen. Therefore, I am not overly optimistic," noted Strack-Zimmermann.
According to her, if Germany allowed the use of weapons to strike military targets on Russian territory, it could serve as an example for other countries.
"Germany has done and continues to do a lot, but providing Ukraine with weapons with restrictions on areas of use is absurd," emphasized the deputy.
Recall that earlier Scholz voiced a tough position regarding Ukraine.
