The Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, had his first phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the last two years. The conversation lasted for an hour and took place on November 15, as reported by the German publication Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), this is the first direct communication between the leaders of both countries since the beginning of this year. Bloomberg agency had previously reported on the preparation for the call.
Official sources in Berlin confirmed the fact of the phone call.
It is worth noting that Putin had previously commented on Trump's 'peace plan' for Ukraine.
