Frost -17 on Mount Pip Ivan: State Emergency Service warns of danger in the Carpathians.
According to ТСН: The highlands of the Carpathians are under the weight of snow and frost. The temperature on top of Pip Ivan has dropped to -17 degrees.
This was warned by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
“Attention! The air temperature in the mountains is -17! Snow!”
According to the State Emergency Service, as of the morning of December 31, cloudy weather and limited visibility are observed on Mount Pip Ivan. A southwest wind is blowing at a speed of 15-17 m/s.
Rescuers emphasize that such weather poses a serious danger to life and health. They recommend being cautious and using the mobile application “Rescue in the Mountains.”
Weather Forecasts
Forecaster Natalka Didenko warned of the arrival of Arctic cold in Ukraine for the New Year holidays. During December 31 and January 1, the frosts will intensify: during the day, the temperature will fluctuate between -2 and -7 degrees. The cold snap will be accompanied by periodic snow and icy conditions.
Given the weather forecasts, it is advisable to be careful during the holiday weekends, especially on mountain trails. Don’t forget about the importance of preparation and safety compliance, so that the New Year holidays become just bright memories.
